How to apply for Registration

 

Applicants may apply for registration under the
Psychologists Act 2005
, the Mutual Recognition (WA) Act 2001 OR the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition (WA) Act 2007

Applicants should be aware of the Board's policy on Professional Indemnity Insurance and English Language Proficiency.


Conditional Registration
Applicants who hold an accredited 4 year degree in Psychology from an Australian University and who are not registered in another State or Territory of Australia should apply under the Psychologists Act 2005.

Full Registration

Applicants who hold an accredited 4 year degree in Psychology from an Australian University and are enrolled in an accredited Masters degree and have completed all the coursework and practicums and who are not registered in another State or Territory of Australia should apply under the Psychologists Act 2005.

Mutual Recognition
Applicants who are currently registered in another State or Territory of Australia should apply under Mutual Recognition.

Applicants who are currently registered in New Zealand should apply under Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition.

Specialist Title Supervision
The Board will consider an application to commence the 2 year specialist title supervision programme from those applicants who hold an accredited Masters degree in the relevant specialty and are employed in a specialist capacity.

Overseas Applicants

Applicants who hold psychological qualifications gained overseas must first have qualifications assessed by the Board.
